What is Grow Your Future?

As Rural Practice Chartered Surveyors, one of the questions we get asked most frequently is “What do you actually do?” We love talking about our work, but this isn’t an easy question to answer. That’s because:

  1. It’s quite difficult to dilute everything that we do down into just a few sentences and still do it justice
  2. There wasn’t a resource or hub where people can go to learn more about this exciting career (until now!)

Grow Your Future is our answer to this question. A resource, packed with information and case studies from practicing rural chartered surveyors. Somewhere that gives an idea of what our job entails, the benefits we enjoy and, perhaps most importantly, how you can start a career as a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor.

Our Aims

We want to raise awareness about what it is to be a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor, to show what the role involves, how rewarding it is and what can be achieved.

We think this career path is one of the most diverse, engaging and exciting jobs you can possibly have – though we might be a little biased. There aren’t many jobs that give you such a fantastic opportunity to travel, meet a wide range of people, work on such different projects, and offer you a rewarding and engaging future.

Who is this for?

As this career is so varied and diverse, it makes it appropriate and appealing to an equally diverse audience.

While it might seem like a natural fit for those with an agricultural or rural background, the career is appropriate for anyone, regardless of where they come from.

Being a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor involves a lot of practical and interpersonal skills – travelling around the country, meeting clients, working with contractors, calculating valuations… the list goes on.

If you’re looking for a career that gives you fantastic opportunities to travel, learn and develop, a job that regularly gets you out of the office and where no two days are alike, then being a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor could be exactly what you’re looking for.

Take a look at some of our case studies or our Instagram to see what it’s like or have a look here to see how to embark on this career path.
